Selected by Acadamy Award winner Sean Baker from over 2,000 applicants, deWitt was one of 10 filmmakers supported by Neon and Kodak to shoot on 16mm.
A special commission by ZOZOVILLA Japan. deWitt wrote, directed, and co-starred in this short.
Widely praised for this role, de Witt co-wrote and produced this feature which premiered at Cinequest 2023. She received Best Actress for MidWest WeirdFest 2024.
Co-written and co-directed with Koji Ueda and Haruka Hirata, and shot entirely in Tokyo. Karita premiered at Dances With Films and has had special screenings at HollyShorts and Japan House, Los Angeles. Will screen at TOKYO LIFT OFF and Oscar Qualifying Short Shorts Asia in Tokyo.
